Joe Balintfy is a spokesperson at the National Institutes of Health, the national medical research agency. Working out of the main office of communications and public liaison, Joe helps the press and public gather information and find the appropriate contacts at all of the NIH's 27 centers and institutes.

Previously, Joe worked as the Communications Director at North American Network, a public relations services firm specializing in radio media relations. He directed all internal and external communications efforts, including marketing, client service and business development.

Joe has a wide variety of media experience including radio positions in Hungary. He was operations manager at Central Europe Today, a daily news show broadcast in Budapest, Prague, Warsaw and Bucharest, and editor/reporter of Budapest Day and Night, a news program aired on Radio Bridge.

Connected in the Washington DC-area Hungarian community, Joe regularly volunteers with organizations and events designed to foster discussions and opportunities to network and advance Hungarian-American issues.

He is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in radio, television and film and minor in English. During his free time, Joe takes Hungarian language classes, teaches skiing in the winter and plays volleyball in the summer.
